Dr. Julia Martin

VETERINARIAN/ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

DVM/CVMMP

Dr. Martin is excited to call Tennessee home and to be part of the state’s incredible community of horse owners, veterinarians, and equine specialists. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 before completing a year-long internship at Kendall Road Equine Hospital. She then spent five years practicing primarily ambulatory equine medicine at Pine Bush Equine Veterinary Hospital in New York before relocating here to join the Tennessee Equine Hospital team.

As a general equine practitioner, Dr. Martin enjoys the variety that each day brings. She provides comprehensive care for horses at every stage of life, from treating lacerations and managing colic cases to caring for newborn foals, supporting high-performance equine athletes, and helping senior horses remain healthy and comfortable throughout their golden years.

Her professional interests include preventive health and wellness, podiatry, sports medicine, geriatric care, and reproduction. In 2026, she completed the Chi University Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner Program, further expanding her approach to equine care. Now, after months of intensive coursework and traveling to Ocala, FL for hands-on experience, she is excited to bring her skills in medical manipulation/chiropractic to her patients at Tennessee Equine Hospital.
