NORTH VETERINARIAN
Dr. Megan Van Geffen is a native of La Quinta, CA, where she spent her childhood pursuing any opportunity to ride and care for horses. She completed her undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University (Go ‘Dores!) where she majored in molecular and cellular biology and competed on the varsity cross country and track teams. Dr. Megan attended veterinary school at North Carolina State University and went on to complete a one year internship at Carolina Equine Hospital. During her internship year, Dr. Megan developed a strong foundation in all aspects of equine practice including medicine, lameness and reproduction. Her special interests include equine internal medicine, neonatology, ophthalmology, and emergency care. In her free time, Dr. Megan enjoys running, exploring new hiking trails, and camping with her husband and their beloved rescue dog, “Iris.”
