Dr. Matt Lovell is a co-owner and Veterinarian at TN Equine Hospital North and a native of Dawson Springs, KY. Dr. Lovell is licensed to practice in the states of TN and KY, and is a member of AVMA, AAEP, TVMA, and a lifetime member of AQHA. Dr. Lovell is a founding member and past president of the Middle Tennessee Academy of Equine Practitioners. He has served on the Executive Board of TVMA and on the Pediatrics Task Force of AAEP.
Dr. Lovell is an undergraduate alumni of Murray State Univeristy with a major in Animal Science, and received his DVM from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
He has years of experience as a general practitioner and a love for all aspects of equine medicine.
Complicated medical cases, dentistry, reproduction, and wellness are his preferred areas of focus both on the farm and in our satellite hospital.
Dr. Lovell’s passion for horses began at the age of 8 years old. In fact, they remained a top love in his life until he met Jean, his wife, whom he married in 1986. Dr. Lovell and his wife, Jean, have three children, Will, Ellen, and Olivia; 2 dogs, “Louis” (Standard Poodle) and “Lucy” (long haired Dachshund) and 1 AQHA/APHA mare, “Vesty.”
Dr. Lovell is a very kind, patient, and experienced veterinarian. He has been a great leader in our TEH-North location.
